Kotsy-watermill, Zalaszántó
In the picturesque village of Zalaszántó, one can see the restored water mill that is considered an industrial monument. In the mid-20th century, the mill came into the possession of the Kotsy family. After nationalization, it could only grind animal feed grain until the mid-1970s. Finally, in 2000, the Balaton-felvidéki National Park bought the mill and opened it as an exhibition space in 2005 after its renovation.
In the interactive exhibition room located in the building, visitors can learn about the tools used for grinding and how the mill operates. The 390 cm diameter undershot waterwheel is located in the wheelhouse and still operates with water power today.
